帝子歌鉴赏
这是李贺诗中较为难懂的一首,历代各家对此诗的解说可谓五花八门。具有代表性的有三说。
一、长生说
清代的王琦认为“此篇旨趣全放楚辞九歌，会其意者，绝无怪处可见”。他认为这首诗描写的是人们为了长生祈求湘神弹琴以迎帝子，以冀望其神之来格以及帝子之不肯来格，景象寂寥的情景。同时他根据《山海经》中的一段话指出诗中的帝子是天帝之女，而非《楚辞》所称尧女之帝子。近人在《李贺诗集》中也指出此诗的主题是祈求长生，“首二句说月明雁啼，水天相映，是先就其地描画一下清空幽冷的光景。三四两句说，世间虽有求不死之药，只有求水神去迎接帝子下降，赐以长生。后四句说山头老桂散发幽光，水中雌龙怨呤，不见神来，惟见群鱼随着小神驰走，不得已只好姑且把珍珠投献，祈神鉴祭其诚，或能赐以降临。”但叶葱奇认为帝子是死为湘水之神的尧之二女。
二、讽刺说
姚文则认为这是一首讽刺诗。“元和十一年秋，葬庄宪皇太后。时大水，饶州奏漂失四千七百户。贺作此讥之，云宪宗采仙药求长生，而不能使太后少延。九节菖蒲石上死，则知药不效矣。帝子指后也。后会葬之岁，复值鄱阳秋水为灾。岂是湘妃来迎，桂香水寒，雌龙怀恨，相与送奏哀丝耶？”
三、对比说
方扶南《李长吉诗集批注》则说“似为公子之为女道士者，玩末二语亵渎见之。题曰帝子，本《九歌》称尧女者。‘湘神弹琴迎帝子’以上四句，咏上古二妃之幽贞，以下四句咏后世帝女之宕逸。上是客，下是主。”

李贺（约公元791年-约817年），字长吉，汉族，唐代河南福昌（今河南洛阳宜阳县）人，家居福昌昌谷，后世称李昌谷，是唐宗室郑王李亮后裔。有“诗鬼”之称，是与“诗圣”杜甫、“诗仙”李白、“诗佛”王维相齐名的唐代著名诗人。著有《昌谷集》。李贺是中唐的浪漫主义诗人，与李白、李商隐称为唐代三李。有“‘太白仙才，长吉鬼才’之说。李贺是继屈原、李白之后，中国文学史上又一位颇享盛誉的浪漫主义诗人。李贺长期的抑郁感伤，焦思苦吟的生活方式，元和八年（813年）因病辞去奉礼郎回昌谷，27岁英年早逝。
