你能卫足让我惭愧，感叹我被移根迁往远方。
青天白日如能光顾，我定要返回我的家乡。
注释
夜郎：今贵州省桐梓县一带。葵叶：葵，蔬类植物，不是向日葵，其叶可食，古人用以制作酸菜。
卫足：古人以葵之嫩叶为菜，不待其老便掐食，而不伤其根，令葵再长嫩叶，所以称葵能“卫足”。《左传·成公十七年》：“仲尼曰：‘鲍庄子之知不如葵，葵犹能卫其足。’”杜预注：“葵倾叶向日，以蔽其根。”
白日：比喻朝廷。
故园：泛指故乡。
流夜郎题葵叶创作背景
此诗写于李白长流夜郎途中，即唐肃宗乾元元年（758年）。诗人在流放途中见到葵叶，触景生惰，遂写下此诗。

流夜郎题葵叶鉴赏
这是一首五绝形式的咏物寓慨诗。前面两句，以对比出之：“惭君”写葵，“叹我”自谓，寓意相辅相成。作者为自己当时无力雪冤自保、终至被迫流放夜郎的艰险处境发出无可奈何的低吟。对葵叶的理解，有两种说法。一说是葵菜，一说是向日葵，两说都通。根据杜预注《左传》，以为葵指向日葵，“倾叶向日，以蔽其根”，此诗由“卫足”联想到“白日”，当时受到杜注影响。向日葵的叶子始终护卫着它的根，李白由此产生惭愧的心理，从而叹息自己却移根走他乡为异客。
后面两句，则是表明作者的希望。李白期待着白日能够分一点光来照耀他，使他能够返回故乡守护故园。李白由“葵”联想到“日”，盼望朝廷赦免他，这与《上崔相百忧章》“覆盆傥举，应照寒灰”两句寓意正同。只是在《上崔相百忧章》里，作者在希望得到昭雪的同时，多少还表达了愿为朝廷效力的心意；而《流夜郎题葵叶》的最后两句，只是希望归隐故园，了此残生，情绪更加低沉了。不过后来他尽管遇赦了，一点点白日之光已经照到了他的身上，然而他仍然未能“还归守故园”。
李白“凡所著述，言多讽兴”（李阳冰《草堂集序》）。这一特点在此诗中表现很突出。由葵叶之“卫足”反衬自己之“移根”，愧叹自己的“无能”自解冤狱。又借“白日”的“分照”，比喻“皇恩浩荡”，盼望朝廷宽宥，放自己回故园和亲人团聚。
此诗纯用寻常语，词意平易浅近，不像李白长篇歌行那样，表现出睥睨一切的浪漫主义情调。通过浅言淡语挥斥幽愤，透露出作者深沉的思想感情：对朝廷给予自己不公正待遇的控诉，对故乡、亲人的怀念，十分感人地传达出诗人南流夜郎途中的真实思想情绪。

李白（701年－762年），字太白，号青莲居士，唐朝浪漫主义诗人，被后人誉为“诗仙”。祖籍陇西成纪(待考)，出生于西域碎叶城，4岁再随父迁至剑南道绵州。李白存世诗文千余篇，有《李太白集》传世。762年病逝，享年61岁。其墓在今安徽当涂，四川江油、湖北安陆有纪念馆。
