译文
那时在樱桃花下相见，她低垂着头，如云般的发髻也倾侧了。在闪烁的银灯下，怀着无限的情意，如今却要忍受和衣而睡的寂寞。
分离时我们在西窗下匆匆欢聚的时光。如今都成了别后的相思。你我各在天涯一方，何日才能相见，今晚想到这里内心更感凄凉。
注释
①清平乐：原为唐教坊曲名，后用作词牌名，又名“清平乐令”“醉东风“”忆萝月”，为宋词常用词牌。晏殊、晏几道、黄庭坚、辛弃疾等词人均用过此调，其中晏几道尤多。同时又是曲牌名。属南曲羽调。
②颓云髻：如云的发髻低垂下来。颓，下垂。
③的的（dídí）：鲜明显著貌。银釭：银白色灯盏。
④消得：谓怎禁得起。和衣浓睡：不脱衣而沉睡。
⑤草草：匆忙仓促或草率。
⑥思量：想念，相思。
⑦料得：也有稿作“遮莫”二字，大约之意。
⑧应思：也有稿作“转思”二字，更思之意。

清平乐·樱桃花底创作背景
清光绪三十一年（1905年），王国维离家去苏州任教，与自己的妻子莫氏离多聚少，抱着对家人和夫人的相思王国维填写了此词。

清平乐·樱桃花底鉴赏
这首词虽然很短，但却贯串了好几个不同的时空。“樱桃花底，相见颓云髻”在时间顺序上是最早的过去，是回忆与那个女子相见时的情景。“樱桃花底”是以环境的美丽衬托人物；“颓云髻”是形容那个女子因羞涩腼腆而低下头来的样子。人与花互相衬托，那女子的美丽多情可想而知。“的的银釭无限意，消得和衣浓睡”是离别后的现在。“的的”，形容灯光在昏暗的房间里明亮显眼的样子。“无限意”既是灯对人的情意，也是我对那个女子的情意，因为我也在为相思而痛苦，那痛苦无异于灯油的自我煎熬。“消得”带起一个问句，意思是“怎禁得起”；“和衣浓睡”是说自己孤独无聊。
“当时草草西窗”，是对过去和那女子相处的回忆。西窗之下与相知之人剪灯共语，何等安静，何等温馨，何等从容，而王国维却冠以“草草”的状语。“草草”是匆忙仓促，亦有草率的意思，因此这里就含有一种悔恨之意：当时苦知有现在的离别，就一定会加倍珍惜那短暂的相聚，可惜当时自己却把这种相聚视为很平常的事情，随随便便就把那段时间打发过去了。
“料得天涯异日，应思今夜凄凉”是遥想今后。既然说“天涯异日”，可见现在虽已和那人离别，但还没有身在天涯。这两句说明，不但今日与那个女子相聚无望，而且今后更是无望，因为今后自己还要漂泊到比现在更远的天涯海角，与情意却只能越来越深，所以到那时候，今夜这种孤灯下的相思也将成为难忘的场景，永远留在自己的记忆里。
