春天里城中的儿女纵情地春游，微醉时斜倚高台欢笑地登上高楼。
满眼落花纷飞，让人生出多少惜春情意，为什么没有一个人懂得春将归去的忧愁！
注释
春城：指扬州。
层台：高台。

春游创作背景
这首诗是作者一次春游后所作，从语言风格看，很可能作于皇祐（1049-1054年）年间，他多次放弃参加科举考试之时。

春游鉴赏
历代春游之作多不胜数，而此诗却颇能独出新意。
首二句写春游之景。王令家居扬州，乃繁华之地。春天的扬州更是满城春风春景，春柳春花。杜牧有诗“春风十里扬州路”，韩拥有句“春城无处不飞花”，诗以“春城”以首，接之以“春游”，无限恣游之景，尽在一“纵”字之中。具体“纵”意，接下来“醉倚层台笑上楼”便展开一幅明媚春光下春城儿女纵情春游的热闹画卷。当此春情，渐上层台，渐倚高楼，如斯风光，好不醉人。一“醉”字，既可理解为春酒小酌，酒意使然，又可理解为春风化人，春景使醉。正是：莫问春情几许，但看春情如醉。
一、二句写春城儿女游乐之景，其欢乐业已至极，若再写欢，势必无言可下。因而诗人笔锋一转，由满城春花骤至满眼落花，感伤之意，倏忽袭来，令人防不胜防。此等落花，非被风雨所摧，故无苏轼“西园落红难缀”之恨；非因暮春所取，故亦无曹雪芹“嫁与东风春不管，凭尔去，忍淹留”之怨。此处落花，落在繁华时节，落在盛春之际。韶光未逝，我独凋零，众人皆欢，我独悲婉。诗人‘偷穷心狂高，不肯束世程。揭欲望丘轲，今昔相招迎”（《谢束丈见赠》），空怀抱负在身，奈何世不相容。王令逝时年未三十，作此诗时亦正当二十余岁的大好年华，而忧愁苦闷如斯，决非偶然。“满眼落花多少意，若何无个解春愁”，用语平平，未有奇字，与其《假山》诗“旧山风老狂云根，重湖冻脱秋波骨”之奇险风格绝不相类，然而用意别出，自有机杼，故亦能传达出意味深长之感。

王令（1032～1059）北宋诗人。初字钟美，后改字逢原。原籍元城（今河北大名）。 5岁丧父母，随其叔祖王乙居广陵（今江苏扬州）。长大后在天长、高邮等地以教学为生，有治国安民之志。王安石对其文章和为人皆甚推重。有《广陵先生文章》、《十七史蒙求》。
