译文
一个巴地小女孩骑着牛儿，唱着竹枝词，沿着处处盛开着荷花、铺展菱叶的江岸，慢悠悠地回家。
不怕天晚了找不到家门，我知道我家门前有一棵芭蕉高高地挺出了木槿篱笆。
注释
巴：地名，今四川巴江一带。
竹枝：竹枝词，指巴渝（今重庆）一带的民歌。
藕丝：这里指荷叶、荷花。傍：靠近，邻近。
还家错：回家认错路。
槿篱：用木槿做的篱笆。木槿是一种落叶灌木。
巴女谣鉴赏
诗人以平易清新的笔触，描绘了一幅恬静闲雅的巴女放牛图。“巴女骑牛唱《竹枝》，藕丝菱叶傍江时”，写的是夏天的傍晚，夕阳西下，烟霭四起，江上菱叶铺展，随波轻漾，一个天真伶俐的巴江女孩，骑在牛背上面，亢声唱着山歌，沿着江边弯弯曲曲的小路慢慢悠悠地回转家去。如此山乡风味，极其清新动人。
下两句：“不愁日暮还家错，记得芭蕉出槿篱”，纯然是小孩儿天真幼稚的说话口气，像是骑在牛背上的小女孩对于旁人的一段答话。这时天色渐渐晚了，可是这个顽皮的小家伙还是一个劲地歪在牛背上面唱歌，听任牛儿不紧不忙地踱步。路旁好心的人催促她快些回家：要不，待会儿天黑下来，要找不到家门了！不料这个俏皮的女孩居然不以为然地说道：我才不害怕呢！只要看见伸出木槿篱笆外面的大大的芭蕉叶子，那就是我的家了！木槿入夏开华，花有红、白、紫等色，本是川江一带农家住房四周通常的景物，根本不能以之当作辨认的标志。小女孩这番自作聪明的回话，正像幼小的孩子一本正经地告诉人们“我家爷爷是长胡子的”一样的引人发笑。诗中这一逗人启颜的结句，对于描绘人物的言语神情，起了画龙点睛的妙用。
古人说：“诗是有声画。”这首小诗就是如此。因为它不但有形、有景，有丰富的色彩（特别值得注意的是芭蕉的新绿和竹篙上紫、白相间的槿花），而且还有姑娘清脆的歌声。《竹枝词》是流行在巴渝一带的民歌，从诗人刘禹锡的仿作来看，讴歌天真纯洁的爱情是它的基本内容。从此诗中可以想见，这位巴女正是在纵情歌唱着她青春的情怀，这从“藕丝菱叶”似乎也能得到一点暗示。而且，妙就妙在她是骑在牛背上，一路走一路唱着，像移动的电影镜头一般，慢慢地把读者的视线引向空阔的远方。“不愁日暮还家错，记得芭蕉出槿篱”，使整首诗充满乐观开朗的气息，给予读者一种健康的美的享受。
这是于鹄采用民谣体裁写的一篇诗作，词句平易通俗，富有生活气息，反映了川江农家日出而作、日入而息的恬静生活的一个侧面，读来饶有隽永动人的天然情趣。
