译文
船行江上，在咿哑嘈杂的摇橹声中渐渐入睡。在梦中与意中人相会，她依然是翠袖盈盈的可人情态。
在梦中正与情人难离难舍，欲说还休之际，却梦断人醒。回忆前夜分别时，正是圆月中天，月圆而人离别。
注释
“欹枕”两句：橹声咿哑，倚枕醉眠。欹（qī）枕：倚枕。艣（lǔ）：同橹，摇船用具。咿哑：象声词，摇橹声。聒（guō）：声音嘈杂，使人厌烦。
“梦里”三句：写梦境：笙歌花底，玉人历历在目。翠袖：着绿色衣衫的人，代指玉人。梦里：一作“变作”。
“别后”两句：言玉人欲诉别后相思，不想梦断人去。两眉尖：紧皱双眉，愁苦貌。梦已阑：梦已尽。
“只记”三句：记叙玉人梦中之语：怨月无情，别时独圆。埋冤：即埋怨。前夜月：指别时之月。不管人愁独自圆：人愁离别，月却独自向圆。意同苏轼《水调歌头·丙辰中秋》词：“何事长向别时圆。”

南乡子·舟中记梦创作背景
此词当作于宋孝宗淳熙五年（1178）秋。当时辛弃疾由临安赴任湖北转运副使之职，舟行江上，记梦而作。

辛弃疾（1140－1207），南宋词人。原字坦夫，改字幼安，别号稼轩，汉族，历城（今山东济南）人。出生时，中原已为金兵所占。21岁参加抗金义军，不久归南宋。历任湖北、江西、湖南、福建、浙东安抚使等职。一生力主抗金。曾上《美芹十论》与《九议》，条陈战守之策。其词抒写力图恢复国家统一的爱国热情，倾诉壮志难酬的悲愤，对当时执政者的屈辱求和颇多谴责；也有不少吟咏祖国河山的作品。题材广阔又善化用前人典故入词，风格沉雄豪迈又不乏细腻柔媚之处。由于辛弃疾的抗金主张与当政的主和派政见不合，后被弹劾落职，退隐江西带湖。
