译文
庭院前落尽了梧桐的叶子，水中的荷花也早失去当日的风姿。
仿佛是通晓诗人我的心思。
一片经霜的红叶离开树枝，飞近身来让我题诗。
注释
芙蓉：指荷花。
辞柯：离开枝干。
题红：在红叶上题诗。唐僖宗时，有一名宫女在红叶上写了一首诗：“流水何太急，深宫尽日闲。愍憨谢红叶，好去到人间。”树叶顺着御沟水流出宫墙。书生于祐拾到后添写道：“曾闻叶上题红怨，叶上题诗寄阿谁？”置于流水上游又流入宫中。后两人终成良缘。
天净沙·秋鉴赏
起首两句的对仗，概括了诗人在园林中所望见的秋景。“庭前”和“水边”是两处代表性的地点，暗示出诗人在四处徘徊，也在百般寻觅。但秋天对于诗人实在是太无情了，这两句中的“尽”和“彻”就不留一点余地。这两个字也正是景句之眼。既然是“落尽梧桐”，诗人的判断显然是基于未尽之时绿叶繁茂的秋前情形；同样，“开彻芙蓉”，首先浮现在他脑海中的也必然是旧时荷花盛开的热闹景象。枝上萧索，水面凋敝，这现实与记忆之间的巨大反差，自然会勾惹起悲秋的心情。可明明是作者因红衰翠减而伤感，第三句却偏偏说成是红翠善解人意，因迎合人的心绪而自甘衰残。诗人的这种自我怨艾，一来反衬出心中无可奈何的悲感的沉重，二来也表现了他对园林中美好事物的一往情深。
正因为诗人将所见的秋景与自己系结在一起，才会有四、五两句的神来之笔，而在心情上发生一个完全的转折。
我们在秋天常会遇到这样的情形：秋风卷着落叶扑面飞来，碰到身上有时就像粘住似的，好一会儿才飘落地面。诗人此时，就有一片“辞柯霜叶”缠上了他。何以见得？因为在上文的气氛中，飞舞在空中的霜叶只会加深“落尽”的印象，唯有停落在身上的片时的流连，才有可能启发诗人新的思考。霜叶“辞柯”而依人，这本身就沟通了“意同”的两者间的联系。“辞柯霜叶，飞来就我题红”，在多情善感的诗人眼中，其“飞来”完全是主动的、有目的的及含情脉脉的行为；而“题红”在其“红叶题诗”典故的原始意义上，则饱含着真、善、美的生活激情。秋天固然有萧瑟的一面，但对热爱生活的诗人来说，却同时意味着希望和奋起。这一“辞”一“就”，尽翻前案，将初时悲秋消沉的气氛一扫而空，无异化衰朽为神奇。小令别出机杼的结尾，令人拍案叫绝。
