人间何苦又悲秋，正是伤春罢。却向春风亭畔，数梧桐叶下。

译文
半夜起来登上高楼，楼檐与玉绳星是如此接近。漫天当中只有冷冷的月亮和迷茫的霜雾，笼罩着城里人家的房屋。
不要为秋天的到来感到悲伤，也正如不要为春天的逝去而伤心。向往在春风亭的日子，数着一片片飘落的梧桐树叶。
注释
好事近：词牌名，又名《钓船笛》，《张子野词》。
危楼：危即高的意思，指高楼。
楼角：高楼的檐角。玉绳：星名，《春秋元命苞》：玉衡北两星为玉绳。亚：通“压”，低垂貌。
惟有：只有。
鸳瓦：鸳鸯瓦，旧时屋瓦一伏一仰，片片相扣故有此称。
伤春罢：感伤春天逝去。
数：计算。梧桐叶下：代表秋天来临。

好事近·夜起倚危楼创作背景
这首词作于1905年的秋天，王国维作为一个文人，也很关心国家大事，因为他所忠于的清王朝如同他描写的秋叶一样，飘零而下，王国维也为此忧心忡忡。但王国维当时只是一个学校教员，生活也是相当的拮据，所以借这首词表达自己对国事和自己命运前途的担忧。

好事近·夜起倚危楼鉴赏
这是一首把悲秋的感情和哲理的思致结合起来的小词。但悲秋的感情中结合了对人间的关爱。哲理的思致中也夹杂了一些放不开的执著。
从上片来看，一般来说古人的诗词在写到“夜起”和“倚危楼的时”的时候，都是由于内心有某种难以言说的忧愁郁闷。那是因为当时国家的命运不容乐观，所以“夜起倚危楼”虽然可能是在写实，但“夜起”与“倚危楼”的组合，却暗示了作者内心也有某种难以言说的忧愁和郁闷。“楼角玉绳低亚”是登楼之所见。但作者的目光并没有停留在夜空。而是随着霜天寒冷的月光转向对人间的俯瞰。在月光下从城市的高楼向下看，最显眼的大约也就是一片屋顶。但作者不说“万家屋顶”而说“万家鸳瓦”并非只是因为“鸳瓦”这个词更关丽。因为“万家鸳瓦”令人想到人间千家万户的美好生活。
下片虽然有“春风亭畔”有“梧桐叶下”。似乎也是写景，实际上却是议论，哲理的思致主要表现在下片之中。伤春与悲秋是诗人的传统，但伤春其实是不愿意看到青春和美好欢乐时光的离去，悲秋其实是不愿意看到衰老和摧伤打击的到来。这种感情本来是人人共有的，诗人只是用诗的语言把这种悲哀表达出来而已。而四季的轮换和春秋的代序是自然规律，不可能因人的愁肠而改变。同样，人的过去和未来也不是自己所能够完全把握的，一生之中不断为此而悲伤痛苦岂不是徒寻烦恼。
正是由于有了这种觉悟，诗人才能够对春秋的代序和盛衰的交替有一种冷静的明察，能够“却向春风亭醉，数梧桐叶下”。这一句，说得实在很妙。“春风”，是欣欣向荣的春天的象征；而梧桐是秋天落叶最早的树木。当梧桐的第一片叶子飘落下来的时候，秋的肃杀便开始一天比一天通近了。所谓“春风亭”，不一定真有此亭，作者只是通过春风与梧桐的对比来表现出这种对哲理的体悟而已。
