译文
庭院的绿苔上布满了红叶，到了金菊盛开的时候，已经很接近重阳饮宴了。每日的霜露打向荷花，凋谢了如绿扇的荷叶。荷塘笼罩在烟雾之中，池水清澈，犹如皎洁的白练。
试图迎着凉风将醉酒吹醒，而恰好在高楼之上，忽然看见大雁南飞。几片预示霜降的云影在飘动，那家的芦管吹奏出愁怨的乐章。
注释
蝶恋花：词牌名，双调，六十字，上下阕各五句、四仄韵。
重阳宴：指重阳节的宴会。古时有重阳登高饮酒的风俗。
绿扇：指荷叶。
澄如练：形容水清澈洁白。
见：同“现”。

蝶恋花·庭院碧苔红叶遍鉴赏
上阕着重在庭院风光，先说碧苔苍苍，霜叶已经红遍，正是金菊盛开时，将近重阳了。由于点明节令，则登高赏宴，亲友欢集的传统风俗内容不言自知，而今年将会怎样，轻轻一笔，遂牵出怀人思远之意，但以后并未继续展开叙写，仅略点即止，仍然回到当前景物的描画上来。察露横降，滴注圆荷，繁盛的扇叶渐次凋残，倒显出半塘碧水澄静不波。
下阕拓开目光，转向寥廓落寞的时空境界，融情入景，以景传情，含蓄地吐露了离愁别思。“试倚凉风醒酒面”，写醉饮情形甚为生动，当酒酣耳热际，倚栏凭眺，秋风吹凉，顿觉燥热消释，头脑清楚多了，而领起的“试”字，刻函此时的游移朦胧尤传神。接着的“雁字来时，恰向层楼见，即此时所见者，从表层现象而言，北雁南飞，排出整整齐齐队列掠过层楼，故称“雁字”但在那深层涵蕴里，雁能传书递讯，可能与远人一通相思苦情否，不过这实属痴心妄想的事，实事尚渺茫无期，仰首天际，但有“几点护霜云影转”，幽幽入耳的，是“谁家芦管吹秋怨”。“护霜云”，此处写云凝霜降，天气凄冷，已增人萧条之感，忽又听悠悠笛声不知从谁家飘来，带着无限愁怨，更触引起心头的离情别绪。结处故设疑问句，实际上是以主观之感受移入外间事，正因心中积郁本深物，特先撇开一笔，却意余言外，并暗应上阕“重阳宴”，似断又续，遥相映对。
词作抒发秋怨及怀人之情。整首词写景为主，直至结句，方才点出“怨”字，实是表明自己胸中秋怨极深。情余言外，使全词充满着苍瑟的气氛。

晏几道（1030-1106，一说1038—1110 ，一说1038-1112），男，汉族，字叔原，号小山，著名词人，抚州临川文港沙河（今属江西省南昌市进贤县）人。晏殊第七子。历任颍昌府许田镇监、乾宁军通判、开封府判官等。性孤傲，晚年家境中落。词风哀感缠绵、清壮顿挫。一般讲到北宋词人时，称晏殊为大晏，称晏几道为小晏。《雪浪斋日记》云：“晏叔原工小词，不愧六朝宫掖体。”如《鹧鸪天》中的“舞低杨柳楼心月，歌尽桃花扇底风”等等词句，备受人们的赞赏。
