译文
清晨湖面水波平如镜，荷叶上露珠滚滚，呆呆的看着湖面中的倒影。绿色的枝干，红色的花朵，杂在一处，让人分辨不清。冷风吹、水浸骨，心中苦闷愁断肠。
注释
凝冷：凝聚着清冷。
“绿茎”句：绿色的枝干，红色的花朵，杂在一处，月色下分辨不清。这里指荷池晓景。
肠断：这里是魂断之意，形容神情入迷。
荷叶杯·一点露珠凝冷鉴赏
调名《荷叶杯》，是因为作品写的这段生活发生在莲塘里，故而有意选用了切“荷”的调名（古时词牌其实也就是题目），也许是借这个调名，用以创造出一个波寒浪静的凄迷意境以寄托他惜别之思。这二者都有可能。但不论是实是虚，都表现了一种惜别的凄苦之情，在给人以影响的艺术效果上却是一致的。
词的开头说，清晨，荷叶上还凝聚着清亮的露珠。“凝冷”，这是感情的色彩，则船上的他俩相对之情可知。通过人物对于客观环境的感受，读者就能体会到他此时的心境，也就暗示了人物在这种心境下可能有的行动。既是一种“寒”的冷遇，则无幸福之可言为可知。
“波影”，这是一个视线的角度，它使读者能得以从这一视线回溯到呆呆地看着水面的他。因此，它证实着“凝冷”正是他自己心理的写照。本是不忍相对，所以移目于波。但在水波里见到的竟是“满池塘”的“绿茎红艳两相乱”。“满”在这里非常传神，非常有气魄，正如一幅巨大的画。画面满是绿的荷叶，红的莲花，不仅立于水面，亦且倒映于水中，形成了巨大的夹角。在这一巨大的夹角处，着一小小的呆望的他，还有低泣的她——那凝冷的露珠，怎知又不是写她的清泪的呢？这是多么巨大的压迫人的孤独之感。似乎这幸福的倚红偎绿的暖色，直把她俩挤了出来，或紧紧地钳住。而这也正是此时人物的心理写照。
“绿茎红艳两相乱”中的这个“乱”字用得艳极。乱是迷离相交的状态，特别是它承上“满”字而来，只觉得满世界尽是亲昵地偎在一起的美丽的情侣，只有他俩却要离开。而一想到离别，是以肠断，这是心境，花叶相乱，本属无情，只是一种自然形态，境由心生，这虽是唯心的，然而并不能否定心境之可以影响对客观事物的看法这一事实。正如杜甫的“感时花溅泪，恨别鸟惊心”一样，这满世界都是相依相偎之情，不能不产生唯独自己不幸的巨大悲哀。只是他这里外界的实物不是实物，而是自己的感情，如杜甫写的这样，而是人物自己的感受，有如柳宗元在永州八记中，把自己心境完全揉合到客观世界中去了的情景。
水风凉，当然也是实的，其实也是心境的感受。绿满逼人，水风浸骨，是爱情的，其实也是社会的。使爱情遭受如此折磨的，当然是由于社会的逼迫，正是只有他俩却要离开这一点相似之处，又可以引导人着眼于社会的逼迫。而如果抽去了或者隐去了本来是隐射或借喻的爱情之说，则就只剩下社会的逼迫了。这就是诗人明修栈道，暗度陈仓的故伎。

温庭筠（约812—866）唐代诗人、词人。本名岐，字飞卿，太原祁（今山西祁县东南）人。富有天才，文思敏捷，每入试，押官韵，八叉手而成八韵，所以也有“温八叉”之称。然恃才不羁，又好讥刺权贵，多犯忌讳，取憎于时，故屡举进士不第，长被贬抑，终生不得志。官终国子助教。精通音律。工诗，与李商隐齐名，时称“温李”。其诗辞藻华丽，秾艳精致，内容多写闺情。其词艺术成就在晚唐诸词人之上，为“花间派”首要词人，对词的发展影响较大。在词史上，与韦庄齐名，并称“温韦”。存词七十余首。后人辑有《温飞卿集》及《金奁集》。
