译文
秦代的那座古墓成了长满野草的山岭，可它那幽暗的地宫，却是豪华壮丽的宫殿。
墓顶上镶着大珍珠，象征日月和金木水火土五星；墓底用水银灌注成江湖河海。
墓中有江海人岂能渡过；暗黑阴冷，永远无春的地下，绝无雁鸭飞回（暗示只有金银铸成，不会活动的雁鸭漂浮）。
野风吹得松树哗哗作响，像是被始皇封为大夫的泰山松的哀悼声。
注释
幽宫：幽冥界的宫殿，这里指秦始皇的陵墓，又指地下的孤独， 紫台：与“紫微宫”义同，天帝的宫殿。转指天子的宫殿。
七曜（yào）：中国古代对日（太阳）、月（太阴）与金（太白）、木（岁星）、水（辰星）、火（荧惑）、土（填星）五大行星的一种总称。
河汉：天河。 九泉：地下的世界。九，为极限的数字，表示“无限”之意；泉，指黄泉之国。
松韵：风吹松树发出的声音。
大夫：官职名。秦始皇祭祀泰山时，途中遇到大雨，遂在松树下避雨．后来秦始皇封这棵大树为“五大夫”（《史记·秦始皇本纪》）。

过始皇墓创作背景
诗作于开元元年（713年），诗人年方十五岁。他于此年离家游历长安，露过长安郊外骊山脚下的秦始皇古墓，不禁发出兴亡盛衰的感叹。

过始皇墓鉴赏
王维的这首诗，主要是揭露他穷奢极欲，榨取民脂民膏的一面。它描写了秦始皇墓的宏大规模：陵墓象山岭一样高，墓穴象一座地下宫殿。里面有明珠做的日月星辰，水银做的江海，黄金制的雁。这几句极力铺叙墓穴的豪华，但看不出诗人是暴露还是羡慕。再往下看就有微词：有海却没有人渡船，墓里没有春秋，雁也不会冬去春来。意思是说，再阔气，也毫无用处。从这两句可以看出诗人对秦始皇大修陵墓已经有所不满。最后两句则充分表现了作者的态度：陵墓周围传来了一阵阵松涛声，好象是大臣们的哀怨。他只听到卿、大夫们的哀怨而没有听到人民的呼声、怒吼，是他的局限性。不过从这些诗句可以看出，他对秦始皇搜刮民脂民膏是持批判态度的。
诗的中间二联，是从史书的记述中想象到的墓室中的情形，是对历史的再现。在秦始皇的墓中，还有难以赘述的广阔世界。但在现实世界中，这里的一切都是无声的，都僵硬地放在这里。死亡的时间与众不同，所以描写这方面的诗歌也就较为稀少了。然而，在这个不一样的世界中，墓中的景观又被作者好像看到了一样一一地被描写了出来。王维感觉的视觉性——画家之眼。在这里可以说是得到了最好的发挥。至尾联时，开始传来了声音。风吹松树的响声，与大夫哀悼秦始皇之死的恸哭重合在了一起，作品怪异的色彩越来越浓了。
这首诗从客观描写到最后表明作者的态度，写得很有层次。全诗写得委婉含蓄，后四句虽然流露了诗人的倾向性，但表现得比较隐蔽，不是赤裸裸的直说，耐人寻味。全诗剪裁得当，十分精炼。关于秦始皇墓内的耗费，历史上记载很多。作者只写以明珠为日月，以水银为江海等，因为这些事物为秦始皇墓中所特有，最能表现秦始皇的铺张。这首诗是王维比较重视视觉印象的代表作品。

王维（701年－761年，一说699年—761年），字摩诘，汉族，河东蒲州（今山西运城）人，祖籍山西祁县，唐朝诗人，有“诗佛”之称。苏轼评价其：“味摩诘之诗，诗中有画；观摩诘之画，画中有诗。”开元九年（721年）中进士，任太乐丞。王维是盛唐诗人的代表，今存诗400余首，重要诗作有《相思》《山居秋暝》等。王维精通佛学，受禅宗影响很大。佛教有一部《维摩诘经》，是王维名和字的由来。王维诗书画都很有名，非常多才多艺，音乐也很精通。与孟浩然合称“王孟”。
