译文
你意欲南归，我百计留你，但留天涯一时，留不得漂泊一世。留不住了，只好让你走了。你踏上归途，要回到多雨的家乡去。
回首往日隐居紫竹村边，那潇洒风流的生活实在令人怀念。那天空中飞过的孤鸿，可是你寻觅了三生的伴侣呢？
注释
南海：广东省。 梁药亭：作者的好友梁佩兰（1630一1705），字芝五，号药亭，广东南海县人，清初著名诗人，与屈大均、陈恭尹并称为“岭南三大家”。康熙二十七年（1688）进士，官翰林院庶吉士，时已年届六十,有《六萤堂前后集》十六卷。《清史列传》卷七十一有《梁佩兰传》可参。
南浦，南面的水边，后泛指送别之地，与陆上送别之地“长亭”相对。 沈香雨：谓沈香浦之雨，沈香浦在广州市西郊之江滨,因晋代广州刺史吴隐之曾投沉香于其中而得名。
风流：潇洒风流。紫竹村：或为梁药亭的家乡地名。
三生：佛家语，指前生、今生、来生。梁鸿：字伯鸾，系汉扶风平陵人，家贫而好学，尚气节，为隐逸之士，与妻子孟光相敬如宾。

点绛唇·寄南海梁药亭创作背景
梁药亭为了参加进士考试，长期滞留京师，故与容若相识，结为知己。但药亭仕进不利，故于清康熙二十年（1681）离京返粤，此篇大约作于是年。当药亭离京后，容若填此寄赠，表达了对他的深切的怀念。

点绛唇·寄南海梁药亭鉴赏
这首词以“寄南海梁药亭”为题，是为梁佩兰离京返粤时，纳兰性德作以寄赠。
上阕中起首一句写药亭意欲南归，留也留不住的惜别眷恋之情。“留君不住从君去”这句话虽然势平语简，但是送别之情却有几许翻转，其依本于宋蔡伸《踏莎行》词云：“百计留君，留君不住。留君不住君须去。”将蔡词三句凝成的深情厚谊收缩于简短一句之中，自是含蕴深远。而次句“片帆何处，南浦沈香雨。”，又承“从君去”而发，写药亭乘着小小船帆踏上归乡之途，这南浦便是友人药亭将要归去之地，典出江淹《别赋》：“春草碧丝，春水绿波。送君南浦，伤如之何！”。药亭此时正在南海，这便是说梁佩兰将要乘船回到多雨的家乡。
下阕中“回首”二字一出，当知词人开始转入回忆，他回顾往日隐居紫竹村边，那潇洒风流的生活实在令人怀恋。当年词人与友人相交密切，感情甚笃，彼此视为知己，而此处所指的风流，也许是谈诗论文、观摩书画，又或是是推心置腹、畅叙友情。但在此词人未有明说，只以“紫竹村”三字，隐隐点出几许隐逸情怀，淡泊情调，让读者自行联想。而结尾句，仍出以想象之语，怀念之中更见对友人的款款深情。“孤鸿语”，孤鸿在诗词里是离别的意象，典出叶梦得《虞美人》：“万里云帆何时到，送孤鸿、目断千山阻。”写两人之间隔着千山万水，舟船难通，只能目送征鸿，黯然魂销。此处容若也是说，药孕南去，一如孤雁南飞，令人伤感，令人叔寞。然而友人确是回到了豕乡，再怎么独自悄悒也是徒然。所以接下来便转写对友人的赞许：“三生定许，可是梁鸿侣？”词人别然牵出佛家三生之语，谓如果说人真的有前生，那么药亭的前生定然是梁鸿一样的人物，便于谐趣中见出对药亭的一往情深。
本词采用了虚实结合的表现手法，先是描写了友人离京返粤的情景，表达了词人对友人离去的留恋和不舍，流露出词人的款款深情。而后化实为虚，采用想象的手法，既追忆了友人往日潇洒风流的隐居生活，以及友人当年与词人推心置腹的交往的美好回忆，又以梁鸿作结，寄托了纳兰对友人返乡后能过上令人歆羡的生活的美好期望，同时也表达了对友人的深切怀念。
同时此词中也处处流露出词人对隐世生活的向往。如意象“紫竹村”则体现了词人对友人隐居之地的追忆，而意象“三生”则是引自佛家用语，同时词人还以“梁鸿”来比喻友人，寄托他对友人的美好期望，这都隐隐表达了词人的隐逸情怀。

纳兰性德（1655－1685），满洲人，字容若，号楞伽山人，清代最著名词人之一。其诗词“纳兰词”在清代以至整个中国词坛上都享有很高的声誉，在中国文学史上也占有光采夺目的一席。他生活于满汉融合时期，其贵族家庭兴衰具有关联于王朝国事的典型性。虽侍从帝王，却向往经历平淡。特殊的生活环境背景，加之个人的超逸才华，使其诗词创作呈现出独特的个性和鲜明的艺术风格。流传至今的《木兰花令·拟古决绝词》——“人生若只如初见，何事秋风悲画扇？等闲变却故人心，却道故人心易变。”富于意境，是其众多代表作之一。
