古木向人秋，惊蓬掠鬓稠。是重阳、何处堪愁。记得当年惆怅事，正风雨，下南楼。
断梦几能留，香魂一哭休。怪凉蟾、空满衾禂。霜落鸟啼浑不睡，偏想出，旧风流。

译文
多年的古树向人展示秋色，蓬乱的头发掠过浓密的鬓角。重阳佳节，无处忍受忧愁。记得当年惆怅的往事，风雨交加之时，正下南楼。
好梦易断，尚有多少残留？亡魂一哭，万事皆休。都怪月光空照在当年的床被上，满床凉意。一地落霜，乌鸦啼鸣，全无睡意，却又偏偏想到当年的风流韵事。
注释
南楼令：又名《唐多令》。双调，六十字，上下片各四平韵。亦有前片第三句加一衬字者。
重九：指农历九月九日，即重阳节。
惊蓬：杂乱的蓬草，这里指头发蓬乱。
“香魂”句：唐温庭筠《过华清官二十二韵》诗： “艳笑双飞断，香魂一哭休。”
凉蟾：指月光。衾（qīn）稠：床帐被褥。
“霜落”句：唐张继《枫桥夜泊》诗：“月落乌啼霜满天。江枫渔火对愁眠。”

南楼令·古木向人秋创作背景
此篇写在塞上又逢重九的伤感。作于何年亦未详，张草纫《纳兰词笺注》将此篇系于清康熙十六年（1677年）九月，即其妻卢氏病殁后。此可备一说。

纳兰性德（1655－1685），满洲人，字容若，号楞伽山人，清代最著名词人之一。其诗词“纳兰词”在清代以至整个中国词坛上都享有很高的声誉，在中国文学史上也占有光采夺目的一席。他生活于满汉融合时期，其贵族家庭兴衰具有关联于王朝国事的典型性。虽侍从帝王，却向往经历平淡。特殊的生活环境背景，加之个人的超逸才华，使其诗词创作呈现出独特的个性和鲜明的艺术风格。流传至今的《木兰花令·拟古决绝词》——“人生若只如初见，何事秋风悲画扇？等闲变却故人心，却道故人心易变。”富于意境，是其众多代表作之一。
