译文
心灵已然寂静无欲了，不会再为外物所动。这一生漂泊不定，好似无法拴系的小船。
有人问我平生的功业在何方，那就是黄州、惠州和儋州。
注释
金山画像：指金山寺苏轼画像，李公麟所作。《金山志》：“李龙眠（公麟）画东坡像留金山寺，后东坡过金山寺，自题。”
心似已灰：即心如死灰。《庄子·齐物论》：形固可以使如槁木，而心固可使如死灰乎
黄州惠州儋州：作者反对王安石新法，以作诗“旁讪朝庭”罪贬谪黄州，后又贬谪惠州、儋州。在这三个地方，作者度过了长期的贬谪生活。

自题金山画像创作背景
1101年三月，苏轼由虔州出发，经南昌、当涂、金陵，五月抵达真州（今江苏仪征），六月经润州拟到常州居住。《自题金山画像》是苏轼在真州游金山龙游寺时所作。

自题金山画像鉴赏
苏轼诗清新豪健，在艺术表现方面独具一格。本诗更是出语惊人，开端便说自己心如死灰，乍看似与诗人一向旷达豪爽的性格很不相附，然了解了诗人的经历、心情后，就不能不对作者这种心死之哀寄予深切的同情：苏轼“有大才气，真力量，所以沾濡涵泳，无昕往而不可，无所往而不能”（庄尉心《宋诗研究》）。
作此诗时，是苏轼去世前两个月，作者已年逾花甲，堪堪走到了生命的尽头。回首自己的一生，几起几落，失意坎坷，纵然有忠义填骨髓的浩瀚之气，也不得不化为壮志未酬的长长叹息。作者只能慷慨悲歌，自叹飘零。接下来的“身如不系之舟”指自己晚年生活的飘泊不定，抒写羁旅漂泊的忧伤情怀。如果仅限于“入乎其内。的抒写人生的苦闷，苏轼也就不成为令人发出会心微笑的“东坡老”。他不会，也不屑在哀愁中沉沦。且看后两句“问汝平生功业，黄州惠州儋州：”一反忧伤情调，以久惯世路的旷达来取代人生失意的哀愁，自我解脱力是惊人的。苏轼认为自己一生的功业，不在做礼部尚书或祠部员外郎时，更不在阀州、徐州、密州（作者曾在此三地作过知府）。恰恰在被贬谪的三州。真是“满纸荒唐言”，然而这位“东坡看”最能够“白首忘机”。失意也罢，坎坷也罢，他却丝毫不减豪放本色，真是不可救药的浪漫。末两句，语带诙谐，有自我调侃的意味，却也深刻地传达了作者此刻的微妙心情。
整首诗庄中含谐，直中有曲。表现了东坡其人其诗特有的风格。读之使人击节可叹，极易受感染。

苏轼（1037－1101），北宋文学家、书画家、美食家。字子瞻，号东坡居士。汉族，四川人，葬于颍昌（今河南省平顶山市郏县）。一生仕途坎坷，学识渊博，天资极高，诗文书画皆精。其文汪洋恣肆，明白畅达，与欧阳修并称欧苏，为“唐宋八大家”之一；诗清新豪健，善用夸张、比喻，艺术表现独具风格，与黄庭坚并称苏黄；词开豪放一派，对后世有巨大影响，与辛弃疾并称苏辛；书法擅长行书、楷书，能自创新意，用笔丰腴跌宕，有天真烂漫之趣，与黄庭坚、米芾、蔡襄并称宋四家；画学文同，论画主张神似，提倡“士人画”。著有《苏东坡全集》和《东坡乐府》等。
