秋夜长，殊未央，月明白露澄清光，层城绮阁遥相望。
遥相望，川无梁，北风受节南雁翔，崇兰委质时菊芳。
鸣环曳履出长廊，为君秋夜捣衣裳。
纤罗对凤凰，丹绮双鸳鸯，调砧乱杵思自伤。
思自伤，征夫万里戍他乡。鹤关音信断，龙门道路长。
君在天一方，寒衣徒自香。
秋夜长鉴赏
“鹤关音信断，龙门通路长，君在天一方，寒衣徒自香。”这几句意谓：可寒衣虽然准备妥当，这龙门戍地的道路却又很长很长，你在天的那一边，我在天的这一边，这寒衣怎么能送到你的手中呢？只好让它搁在那儿独自地散发熏烤的香味了。全诗到这里嘎然收束，那不尽的愁思，那远戍他乡GREn/ target=_blank class=infotextkey>征人的悲苦，只好留给读者去玩味，揣摩了。这里收到了言有尽而意无穷、意有尽而情无限的效果。表面上看是诗人对一对“纤罗对凤凰，丹绮双鸳鸯”的人为分离而寄予无限的同情，实际上是作者对唐统治者发动对外扩张的非正义战争的谴责与抗争。不难看出，作者善于吸取《诗经》、《汉乐府》民歌中的精华，但比之表现的感情更为细腻，更能打动读者的情思。可以想象，作者是和着泪永挥写这首诗的，不过，他把眼泪洒在诗篇之外罢了。
从诗人记事起，唐王朝就无休止的进行武力征伐。据史书记载，公元668年，唐高宗李治兴兵讨伐西突厥，擒沙博罗可汗；公元661年又讨伐百济，灭掉了百济国，并击败了日本的援兵；接着又征高丽，擒高丽王高藏。作者十五岁那年，即上书右相刘祥道，抨击唐王朝的侵略政策。该文中说：“伏见辽阳求靖，大军频进，有识寒心，群黎破胆。……辟地数千里，无益神封；勤兵十八万，空疲常卒……飞刍挽粟,竭淮海之费……图得而不图失，知利而不知害，移手足之病，成心腹之疾。”（《上刘右相书》）这种反侵略、反扩张的思想在当时是十分难能可贵的，作为诗人，王勃把这种思想反映在他的作品中是理所当然的。可以说《秋夜长》是诗人作品中反映现实最深刻的诗篇之一。把这首诗放在初唐诗坛这样一个特定的背景中来分析、来评价，不难看出作品反映现实的深度。可以肯定地说：诗人在作品中所反映的社会生活与盛唐和中唐的现实主义诗篇已相去不远。在那样的时代，作者能写出如此深刻的反映现实社会的佳作，当犹如平地而起的一声惊雷，使得那些仍醉心于宫诗、艳诗的文人为之一震，这在中国文学史上是值得写上一笔的。

王勃（649或650～676或675年），唐代诗人。汉族，字子安。绛州龙门(今山西河津)人。王勃与杨炯、卢照邻、骆宾王齐名，世称“初唐四杰”，其中王勃是“初唐四杰”之首。唐高宗上元三年（676年）八月，自交趾探望父亲返回时，不幸渡海溺水，惊悸而死。王勃在诗歌体裁上擅长五律和五绝，代表作品有《送杜少府之任蜀州》等；主要文学成就是骈文，无论是数量还是质量，堪称一时之最，代表作品有《滕王阁序》等。
