译文
如宫殿般的帐幕聚集在高大的嵩山，皇帝游山的场面实在壮观。
清晨云雾连同帐幕涌动卷起，夜间灯火夹杂星光缭绕回旋。
幽暗的山谷千旗出动，天子车驾到来，山中响起高呼万岁的声音。
我随同出游确实值得写诗歌诵，但终究还是缺乏光彩耀天的才华。
注释
扈：随从。登封：在今河南郑州登封市，位于嵩山之南。
帐殿：皇帝出巡时休息的帐幕。郁：积聚。崔嵬：高峻的样子。
山鸣：据《汉书·武帝纪》，汉武帝祭嵩山，随从者听见山神恭呼万岁。万乘：指天子。周制，天子有地方千里，兵车万辆。乘，古代计算兵车的单位，四马并驾一车，称为一乘。
良：确实。赋：写作。
掞（shàn）天：光芒照天。掞，照耀。
扈从登封途中作鉴赏
宋之问的宫廷诗比沈佺期的要复杂些，虽然这仅是在基本一致的风格中所发生的轻微个性变化。他的最好的宫廷诗完全不像应制诗，而是优美自然的抒情诗。这首《扈从登封途中作》是公元696年（武则天万岁通天元年）宋之问在随皇帝登嵩山祭天所作。古代帝王为报答天地恩德，并向天地祈求福寿，常举行封禅大典。在泰山上筑坛祭天为“封”，在泰山下辟地祭地为“禅”，后来扩大为五岳都可封禅。
整首诗对仗工巧，锦绣成文，充满对武则天的歌功颂德。此诗第六句的“万乘”是皇帝的传统代称，但这里上下文的描写恢复了这一词语本身的某些力量。据《旧唐书》记载，武则天游河南洛阳龙门，命随从官员作诗，左史东方虬诗作先成，武则天赐给锦袍，之后宋之问献诗，武则天赞赏其诗句更高，又夺东方虬的锦袍赏给宋之问。
