刘元刚（一一八七～一二六八），字南夫，一字南强，号容斋，吉水（今属江西）人。宁宗嘉定十六年（一二二三）进士，授永丰县主簿。调静江军推官。丁外艰，服除，差江州教授兼濂溪书院山长。累官知韶州。度宗咸淳四年卒，年八十二。事见《文山集》卷一六《知韶州刘容斋墓志铭》、清雍正《江西通志》卷五○。今录诗八首。
