李揆，字起宗，浏阳（今属湖南）人。孝宗乾道二年（一一六六）进士。授宁远尉（清嘉庆《宁远县志》卷六）。光宗绍熙元年（一一九○）知上高县。宁宗嘉定三年（一二一○）为国子司业、起居舍人兼国史院编修官。四年，擢中书舍人兼实录院同修撰。事见《南宋馆阁续录》卷九、清同治《上高县志》卷七。今录诗八首。
