我昔闻日观，想像当雄哉。君今登日观，真从日边来。
君言日观高踞山之东，左有天门，右有绝崖。从中突起一片石，不知千丈万丈，上拨浮云开。
扶携石傍东面坐，但见东方无际畔，尽在莽苍沧茫间。
上不辨穹霄，下不分人寰。八极总一景，焉知别华蛮。
忽闻天鸡鸣一声，恍惚红光射破青冥端。龙宫煆火齐，琢为太阳丸。
海波潋潋玻璃翻，搏桑翛翛扫三山。卫霞从雾纷斓斑，五彩错乱多朱殷。
龙车不须毂，踆乌不须翰，奋迅升天关。游天衢兮循天环，开辟六合，天尊地卑，万物出作咸乂安。
日观之日乃如此，亘古不息正天纪。苍生仰照宣重光，吾能言之自此始。

祝允明（1460—1527）字希哲，号枝山，因右手有六指，自号“枝指生”，又署枝山老樵、枝指山人等。汉族，长洲（今江苏苏州）人。他家学渊源，能诗文，工书法，特别是其狂草颇受世人赞誉，流传有“唐伯虎的画，祝枝山的字”之说。祝枝山所书写的“六体书诗赋卷”、“草书杜甫诗卷”、“古诗十九首”、“草书唐人诗卷”及“草书诗翰卷”等都是传世墨迹的精品。并与唐寅、文徵明、徐祯卿齐名，明历称其为“吴中四才子”之一。由于与唐寅遭际与共，情性相投，民间流传着两人的种种趣事。
