王淹，字伯奋，祖籍大名（今属河北）。旦七世从孙。宁宗庆元二年（一一九六）通判吉州。嘉泰二年（一二○二）知筠州（《周文忠公集》卷四一《次王伯奋通判韵》、卷五二《元丰怀遇集后序》、卷五四《王氏济美集序》）。开禧二年（一二○六）由知衢州任罢（《宋会要辑稿》职官七四之二一）。有《槐庭济美录》十卷（《宋史·艺文志》），已佚。今残本《永乐大典》录有《槐庭济美集》诗十六首，其内容似为辑录王氏族人之诗，具体作者已无考，姑置王淹名下。
