嘉定元年( 1208 )进士，累官太学博士，秘书郎、衡州知府，终官湖南安抚司参议官。学于叶适，得其旨要,文章法度,能守师传；诗与“永嘉四灵”相近。著有《五经说》、《诸子辩论》、《东瓯郡要略》(又名《东都要略》)、《浣川集》。
