《回中作》鉴赏
原文
苍莽寒空远色愁，呜呜戍角上高楼。
吴姬怨思吹双管，燕客悲歌别五侯。
千里关山边草暮，一星烽火朔云秋。
夜来霜重西风起，陇水无声冻不流。
赏析
此诗写征戍之苦。三四句置于全篇中，似是写“燕客”回忆身在江南与亲友相别的悲情场面，当提出来单看。除此二句之外，其余六句均极力渲染边塞景物，没有丝毫主观情绪掺入其中，纯是以景煽情。作者只是客观的把边塞景物呈现出来，至于苦不苦、如何苦等问题，则完全留给读者自己遐想体味。作者无意把读者的思维拘束在文字的范围之内，因此形成一种意蕴绵长的效果。看似不言情只绘景，而情却蕴在景中，这是温庭筠一贯的手法。
全诗描绘了一幅日暮边关阔大苍茫的景象，从中寄寓着诗人客游边地的愁怀。这种边愁是如此的沉重，不能出世为官，亦不能在边塞建功立业。在诗人眼前，是国势衰微军队战斗力下降的悲凉压抑的边塞情景，边塞早已失去了昔日盛唐的荣光，而自己满腹才学却不能受重用而辗转流离，因此触景伤情。“重霜”“西风”“陇水冻不流”，诗人的内心充满了凄苦与悲凉。
全诗语言清新爽利，对回中道一带边塞景色的描写，颇能显现西北边境的苍莽辽阔与悲壮苍凉的情致。明清之际思想家王夫之对温庭筠诗颇多贬抑，但对这首诗却颇为赞赏。

温庭筠（约812—866）唐代诗人、词人。本名岐，字飞卿，太原祁（今山西祁县东南）人。富有天才，文思敏捷，每入试，押官韵，八叉手而成八韵，所以也有“温八叉”之称。然恃才不羁，又好讥刺权贵，多犯忌讳，取憎于时，故屡举进士不第，长被贬抑，终生不得志。官终国子助教。精通音律。工诗，与李商隐齐名，时称“温李”。其诗辞藻华丽，秾艳精致，内容多写闺情。其词艺术成就在晚唐诸词人之上，为“花间派”首要词人，对词的发展影响较大。在词史上，与韦庄齐名，并称“温韦”。存词七十余首。后人辑有《温飞卿集》及《金奁集》。
