一十九稘初告终，抟搏员地趋大同。神机捭阖纵变化，争存物竞谁相雄。
大哉培根氏告我，即物观道冥纤洪。至人先天戒凝滞，高下体合如张弓。
从其后鞭向仁寿，岂假食苦师蓼虫。三皇五帝各垂法，所当时可皆为功。
蚩蚩之氓俾自治，奚翅洲渚浮艨艟。及其已过尚墨守，无益转使百弊丛。
矧今天意存混合，殊俗异种终棣通。是时开关用古始，何异毛毳当炉烘。
履而后艰常智耳，如惩弗毖宁非懵。四百兆民皆异种，卒使奴隶嗟神恫。
所以百千万志士，争持建鼓挝顽聋。贤愚度量儿相越，听者一一袖耳充。
胶胶扰扰何时已，新旧两党方相攻。去年北方致大祸，至今万乘犹尘蒙。
亦知天心未厌乱，南奔避地甘长终。岂意逃空得謦欬，知交乃遇四五公。
就中爱我最真挚，屈指先数南昌熊。心期浑欲忘彼此，圭角相遇加磨砻。
人生行止不自诡，扁舟又欲随南风。临行执手无所赠，惟有真气如长虹。
横流他日傥相遇，窃愿身道双加丰。

严复（1854.1.8—1921.10.27），原名宗光，字又陵，后改名复，字几道，汉族，福建侯官县人，近代著名的翻译家、教育家、新法家代表人。先后毕业于福建船政学堂和英国皇家海军学院。在李鸿章创办的北洋水师学堂任教期间，培养了中国近代第一批海军人才，并翻译了《天演论》、创办了《国闻报》，系统地介绍西方民主和科学，宣传维新变法思想，将西方的社会学、政治学、政治经济学、哲学和自然科学介绍到中国，提出的“信、达、雅”的翻译标准，对后世的翻译工作产生了深远影响，是清末极具影响的资产阶级启蒙思想家，翻译家和教育家，是中国近代 史上向西方国家寻找真理的“先进的中国人”之一。
