宋代：王辟之
曹州于令仪者，市井人也，长厚不忤物，晚年家颇丰富。一夕，盗入其室，诸子擒之，乃邻子也。令仪曰：“汝素寡悔，何苦而为盗邪？”曰：“迫于贫耳！”问其所欲，曰：“得十千足以衣食。”如其欲与之。既去，复呼之，盗大恐。谓曰：“汝贫甚，夜负十千以归，恐为人所诘。留之，至明使去。"盗大感愧，卒为良民。乡里称君为善士。君择子侄之秀者，起学室，延名儒以掖之，子、侄杰仿举进士第，今为曹南令族。
译文： 魏国有个叫于令仪的商人，他为人忠厚不得罪人，晚年时的家道非常富足。有天晚上，一名小偷侵入他家中行窃，被他的几个儿子逮住了，发现原来是邻居的小孩。于令仪问他说:“你一向很少做错事，有什么苦衷要做贼呢？”小偷回答说：“为贫困所迫罢了。”于令仪再问他想要什么东西，小偷说：“能得到十贯钱足够穿衣吃饭就行了。”于令仪依照他的要求给了他。小偷已经离开，于令仪又叫住他，小偷大为恐惧。于令仪对他说：“你十分贫穷，晚上带着十贯铜钱回去，恐怕你会被人追问的，留下钱财，到了明天再拿走。”那小偷深感惭愧，后来终于成了善良的人。邻居乡里都称令仪是好人。
注释： 市井人：做生意的人，市井：经商。长厚：品行敦厚（厚：宽厚）。盗：贼。乃：原来。素：向来。邪：同“耶”，表疑问、反问语气。十千：指十贯铜钱。去：离开，使去：拿走。延：聘请。掖：教育。令族：有声望的家族。足：足够。使：让。卒：最后，最终。物：人。既：已经。忤物：做事情违背天理和人情。忤：违反、抵触的意思。寡悔：很少有懊悔，意为很少做错事。即为人谨慎小心。诘：追问。负：背。颇：很。掖：教育。

王辟之（1031—？），字圣涂，临淄（今山东临淄）人。宋英宗治平四年（1067）进士。宋哲宗元佑年间（1086—1094），他担任任河东县（今山西省永济县）知县，曾“废撤淫祠之屋，作伯夷叔齐庙”，以“贵德尚贤”闻名。
